(36)pp. From an edition of 126, this is one of twenty-six deluxe copies. Surrounding six fantastical short stories about clouds and stuffed rabbits in Japanese and English is a delightful sensory experience: a soft mohair jacket knitted by Eiko Hamada enrobes the spotted washi paper-covered boards; the text is letterpress printed in six colors with an ombre effect on textured Japanese paper, torn by hand to give it a fluffy feel; and the endpapers are a smooth metallic washi paper stamped with rabbit prints, matching the four-flap box in which the book is housed. The lid to the box has a hole lined with wool, through which the book and title on the front cover peek, like the blue sky through fluffy, rabbit-shaped clouds. Lacking original insect-repellant wrapping cloth, else a fine copy of this 2007 Miniature Book Competition Distinguished Book Award Winner. Prospectus laid in. (2 3/4 by 2 3/8; 70x60mm).
