Octavo. (ii), 326pp + 14ff photographs, with others interspersed in the text. Foer's post-9/11 handling of those left behind in New York captures the strain of the moment and the years thereafter, and poignantly closes with a series of photographs which reverse the famous "Falling Man" image. A limited edition was published later, after the book's enormous success, but signed copies of the first edition remain remarkably scarce, and inscriptions even scarcer. Bound in full black paper over boards. Fine in near fine dust wrapper, this quite crisp other than shelf-sunning.
