Square octavo. (18)ff. A material networking of three of the English-American literary tradition's most notable spiritual travelers, whose esoterica are here brought into terrestrial sensibility in letterpress and linocut. Excerpts from their writings are interwoven with symbols of varying degrees of familiarity, the hamsa and mobius triangle more, the swirling shapes less. At the centerfold these congregate with a human torso cross the gutter, from the core of which unfurls leaves from Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, suggesting that material ties really do bind even the most transcendental of poets, who know each other not on some elevated plane but thanks to concrete marketplaces exchanges to which they are as beholden as the rest of us. Bound in handmade papers over boards, with gray to upper and blue to lower, backed in red. Fine.
