Small quarto. (12)pp, accordionfold. With silhouetted figures cut out of the backing boards and sprawling half-formed geometric illustrations in red, Borezo here with complementary structuralism narrates the story of Buckminster Fuller's geodesic dome. He had made his first attempt in 1948 at Black Mountain College, but the try ran short and the materials amok, as depicted at the book's center spread. He returned the following year and completed the project, then obtaining at patent in 1954. Fuller's philosophy-bordering-theology of architecture, art, and humanism fit well with the experimental culture of Black Mountain and with those whose recollections are reprinted here, among them Charles Olson's poem "The Praises," Elaine de Kooning's remembrances of those years, and Fuller's own writings. Bound in gray paper over boards. Fine. Housed in dropback box.
